Allied Divisions in D-Day Allied Divisions That Participated in the D-Day Assault
The Allied invasion force that went into Normandy on 6 June 1944 was the mightiest the world has ever seen. Twelve Allied nations provided units that participated in Operation OVERLORD including: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czechoslovakia, France, Greece, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, the United Kingdom and the United States. Of these countries, the D-Day assault divisions were composed of British, Canadian and American units. We salute the bravery, resourcefulness and sacrifice of all the contingents that participated in D-Day and we pay tribute to their efforts. Below, you will find information about the Allied divisions that landed in Normandy on 6 June 1944.
